For tradies who work alone
Most check-in apps only know where your phone is. If you don't check in, MateCheck tells your mates:
Built by a sparky in Adelaide. Launching soon in Australia and New Zealand. No card needed to join the list.
Demo runs fast: one second here is one minute on site.
What makes it different
Note what you've isolated and snap the isolation point when you start. It goes in every alert, and you can't check out without confirming it's removed or left on purpose.
"Isolated: main switch, board B (photo attached)"The alert carries the job: the switchroom or roof space you're in, how to get in, who's on site, and plain steps for the person getting it.
"Ring Mick. No answer? Ring Dave, the building manager. Still nothing? Call 000."If your mates don't respond in time, MateCheck can ring the site contact from the job, who's metres away, not across town. Only switched on for jobs where they've agreed.
"Calling Dave (building manager), on site now"Pick roof space, live work or ladder and the timer tightens. On a hot day, roof and ceiling space timers tighten again. Fall detection only switches on for ladder and height work, so it isn't crying wolf all day.
"34° forecast: roof space check-ins every 20 min"How it works
Two or three people: your partner, a mate, the office. They don't need the app.
Pick the task, note any isolation. Booked jobs fill in the address and site contact for you.
Your phone asks "Still OK?" One tap says yes or adds 15 minutes.
Your mates get the job card by text and a call, then the site contact if nobody responds.

Questions
No. MateCheck alerts the people you choose. It doesn't call emergency services for you and isn't a monitored control room. If you're hurt, call your local emergency number.
No. It's a record and a reminder, so the people looking for you know what's isolated and you don't leave without dealing with it. Your normal isolation and lockout procedures still apply.
No. You switch it on per job, and only for site contacts who've agreed to it. They're only called if your own contacts don't respond.
Your job details are saved when you start, and the timer runs on our servers, so your mates still get the alert if your phone drops out.
No. They get a normal text message and a phone call.
We're planning ServiceM8 and Fergus first, then others like AroFlo and simPRO. Tell us yours in the form so we know which to build first.
